Executive Director Cynthia Gibson and Immediate Past Board President Molly O’Reilly visited Idaho’s congressional offices on Capitol Hill during the national Walk Summit in D.C. The timing was ideal as the U.S. Congress works to iron out a long-term transportation bill and we continue to press for Transportation Alternatives Program funds to remain intact and available for communities. TAP funds go to building sidewalks, bike lanes, cross walks, and to increasing Safe Routes to School programs. Contact your Senator and Congressman today and tell them you want your town to be safer for all non-motorized road users.
Presently the House and Senate versions of the transportation bill are being reconciled in Conference Committee.
We’ve heard through the grapevine that Idaho Congressman Simpson received more emails regarding the transportation bill than all US representatives but one. Thanks for your vigorous outreach!
